ATTENTION: For those who made–or plan on making–our Coffee Infused Vodka and coffee lovers alike, the wait is over!

Coffee Ice Cream Martini

Over the past few weeks we’ve been exploiting our brains for an awesome cocktail to serve up using our Coffee Infused Vodka. Now, after your patience and many hours of mixing, we present to you the Coffee Ice Cream Cocktail. Answer this: who doesn’t love coffee ice cream? Well . . . unless you don’t like coffee, but then you probably wouldn’t have read this far, so let’s move on.

You may want consider this cocktail a member of the flip class, but because of the cream this drink would be classified as an eggnog. We’re going to consider our cocktail as the perfect summer version to the classic winter eggnog we all love.

INGREDIENTS

Makes 2 martinis

2 eggs, separated
2 Tbsp. sugar
1 Tbsp. heavy cream
1 Tbsp. whole milk
2 ½ oz. coffee vodka
¼ tsp. vanilla
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
Espresso powder mixed with sugar and/ or chocolate covered espresso beans for garnish

In a small bowl, beat egg yolks and sugar together until pale yellow. Add heavy cream, whole milk, coffee vodka, vanilla, and nutmeg. Stir until combined. Whip egg whites in a separate bowl until peaks form. Fold egg whites into drink mixture until just mixed.

Dampen the rims of two chilled martini glasses and tip the top of the glasses in espresso powder mixture to coat the rims. Pour drink into cocktail shaker with ice. Give cocktail a good shake; strain into glasses and gently top with espresso beans (so they don’t sink).

It may be a lot of work if you were a bartender and are making them at your busy bar downtown, so this can be a great cocktail to make at home; talented and experienced bartenders should have no problem mixing this one right up in the shaker. This are the perfect liquid dessert, which we think is the best type of dessert.

**We recommend serving this as a martini; unfortunately Brittany is good at breaking glasses
